Autumn Walk in Cropredy Oxfordshire

Canalside Walk

On a beautiful Autumn morning my wife and I decided to walk from Cropredy in Oxfordshire along the canal

.

We walked our two dogs Lexie and Tilly along the canal in the sun. With the sun glistening on the water, it made a beautiful photo.

After a while we came across a lock where there was a canal Narrowboat going through the lock in an upwards direction. We sat on a bench watching the couple filling the lock, so they could move the boat in, The Gentleman had trouble opening the lock so I assisted. When the boat was in the lock they started to let the water in by operating lock and lifting the boat up in the lock to the next level of the canal.

Once the boat was level, they opened the lock gates and moved the boat out of the lock and then shut the gates behind them and went on there way

.

My wife and myself decided to carry on with our walk along the canal meeting other canal boaters . We love walking along the canal because we always feel relaxed and the beautiful boats and cottages we come across.

After along walk we went into a very old pub for a evening meal before going home.
